|
17:48 | | Whilst stationary at a roundabout vehicle DK67 NYA (a white Dacia) was hit on the rear with some force (the impact can be heard on the dashcam video). The blue van which caused the impact was visible to the Dacia driver in the rear view mirror and the van was stationary following the impact. After a short delay of 15 seconds the van moved off and left the scene of the accident without speaking to the Dacia driver. |
17:48 | | The van was chased by the Dacia car and the van eventually stopped. |
17:50 | | The driver of the van got out of the van with some difficulty as the offside wing of the van had considerable damage which affected the door. He gave his name as Ashley Thompson, tel 07874132326 |
17:52 | | The driver of the Dacia had received a back injury and Ashley Thompson, the van driver, phoned for an ambulance to attend to the driver of the Dacia. |
| | The van driver said that he had to go as he had to collect a child and he got back into his van and as he was getting into his van he said he would ring his boss. |
| | The van driver had been reluctant to give any insurance details but after having spoken to his boss he said that his boss would deal with things and that the Dacia driver should phone the number on the back of the van to deal with the "boss". |
| | Whilst the van driver was speaking to his boss the Dacia driver phoned for police assistance as she felt very vulnerable. The van driver drove off. |
| | The police arrived in approximately 10 minutes but the van driver had left. The police took a statement and allocated HC-22082024-0518 as their reference number. The police checked that the Dacia was safe to drive and recommended that the vehicle be examined as soon as possible for safety reasons. |
~18:40 | | The ambulance arrived and the paramedics examined the driver of the Dacia. The paramedics concluded that the back pain was due to muscle spasms caused by the impact. |
